RGBlob
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
A speed runnable platformer, merge colors to leverage new skills!
This is a game developed for the Godot Wild Jam 13 event which had the theme "Merge."
https://itch.io/jam/godot-wild-jam-13
Gameplay
You play as a blob who can merge with other blobs and gain abilities. You can merge with Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) blobs which are the dominating color when merged with anything other than RGB.
Some abilities are obvious to activate. If at first you don't succeed try holding a button or direction while interacting with the environment. HINT: Hold down for slow fall :)
Testing
This game has keyboard (wasd or arrows and space) and joystick support. Most testing has been in Linux with an iBUFFALO gamepad (SNES knockoff) and windows with an XBox 360 controller.
Credits
This was a solo project by 26pt2. All content was made during the game jam with the exception of the "m3x6" font by Daniel Linssen (thank you!):
Known Issues/FAQ:
- Linux Only: Using iBUFFALO, left and up are not recognized on the first press at the very start of a level. This appears to happen in Linux only and doesn't doesn't impact keyboard inputs.
- (0.2 update)
Console error output trying to double connect a signal - Some keyboards with 2-key rollover, you may not be able to do 3 key actions. For example jump when looking up and moving left.
See: http://random.xem.us/rollover.html - (0.4 Update)
Color overrides instead of merged, rare, need to recreate. - (0.2 Update)
Music is only on during intro (intentional, it gets old fast... need more time/skills) - (0.5 Update)
Missing .pkg files for linux - Not a ton of levels. The last one can be beat.
- About 1 day left in the game jam when 0.1 was uploaded, development will continue. Bugs, Levels, and hopefully some sprite improvements to come. An on-point merge animation would be nice :)
